The Heritage Museum of Montgomery County board members created their Mission Statement in 1985. The public’s support is greatly appreciated, which helps us continue:

  • Collecting, preserving, and exhibiting articles and artifacts significant to the history of the county, thereby fostering the community’s interest in its past as well as its present;
  • Acquiring or creating special exhibits not limited to local history;
  • Sponsoring classes and programs to stimulate interest and creative activity.

Recently, the museum acquired the estate of Mark Clapham, one of Montgomery County’s most renowned artists. Many of his paintings and sculptures are now on display in Gallery IV, and numerous signed and numbered prints are available or sale. If you haven’t seen this extraordinary collection, please stop by. You can also preview and purchase any of the 30+ oral history DVDs that feature Montgomery County residents, sharing their stories of “the way life used to be.”

Once again, we thank you for visiting our museum website . We are continuously pride ourselves in building on the past, present, and future of our historic county. Thank you so much!
