Starting the Monday after July 4th,  Heritage Museum of Montgomery County hosts an event called “Pioneer Days” for  students from ages 8 – 11.  These five days are filled with information, activities, reenactments, projects, games, special guests and snacks all relating to the way pioneers lived, worked and played together.  Shucking corn, churning butter, washing clothes and pretending to have a day at school are just some of the interesting activities included in this time spent exploring the museum.  Young people participating in “Pioneer Days” come away with a deeper understanding of our past….AND have FUN in the process of hands-on learning!
